"the importance of lios"

Description
While Assistant Editor for IPNI, I created and directed this short, educational film. The project was in support of a global initiative promoted by the FAO called The International Year of Soils. I proposed that we enlist the help of two film grad students to complete the film. They would then use the animation as their thesis project for graduation and IPNI would receive a high-quality, promotional video. This decision resulted in a savings of nearly $27,000 in production costs, while establishing a working relationship with the University’s animation program for future projects. I served as producer, director and art director for this video project, in charge of acquiring and tracking our $5,000 budget, as well as overseeing the 8-month long production schedule. Additionally I created 50% of all the sets/props and animating. The design of the sets was influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement.
"The Importance of Lios" has been accepted to several film festivals around the world.
